- Paints and brushes (optional)
- Autumn-themed picture cards (leaves, pumpkins, acorns, etc.)
- Pictures or books depicting autumn scenes

Introduction (10 minutes):
Gather the children in a circle and show them pictures or books depicting autumn scenes. Discuss what they notice about autumn, such as falling leaves, cooler weather, and the changing colors of trees.
Ask the children what they already know about autumn. Encourage them to share their thoughts and observations.
Seasonal Discussion (10 minutes):
Use the whiteboard or flipchart to draw a simple diagram of the four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
Talk about the characteristics of autumn, such as the falling leaves, the transition from warm to cooler weather, and the harvest of crops like pumpkins and apples.
Show the autumn-themed picture cards and discuss each item. Ask the children if they've seen these items during the autumn season.
Art Activity (30 minutes):
Distribute large sheets of white paper to each child. Make sure they have plenty of space to work.
Instruct the children to choose an autumn item from the picture cards or books that they find interesting and want to draw. They can choose from leaves, pumpkins, acorns, or anything else related to autumn.
Provide crayons, colored pencils, markers, and paints for the children to use. Encourage them to use a variety of colors to make their artwork vibrant and capture the essence of autumn.
Circulate among the children, offering assistance, and engaging in conversations about their chosen autumn items. Ask questions like, "What colors do you see in the leaves?" or "How does the pumpkin look?"
Once the children have finished their drawings, allow them to share their artwork with the group. Encourage them to describe what they've drawn and why they chose that particular autumn item.
Closure (5 minutes):
Gather the children back in a circle and have a short discussion about the art activity. Ask questions like, "What did you enjoy most about drawing autumn items?" or "What colors did you use to represent autumn?"
Emphasize the importance of noticing and appreciating the beauty of the changing seasons.
Extension Activities (5 minutes):
If time allows, read a short story or sing a song related to autumn.
Encourage children to take their artwork home and share it with their families, explaining what they learned about autumn.
Assign a homework task for children to collect and bring in their own autumn leaves or items to share with the class in the next lesson.
Note: Be sure to adapt the activity to the specific needs and abilities of the children in your class, providing additional support or challenges as necessary.
